Where does clothing derive it’s value? Is it from garment construction techniques and design? Fabrics and manufacturing methods? I think it is these elements that makes one piece of clothing different from the next, but I also think it is about ideas and what sort of environment each design is conceived from.
Osaka brand COSMIC WONDER Light Source from Japanese artist Yukinori Maeda so beautiful and inspiring.
SS09 was presented during a eight hour worked day at a staged gallery and office setting.

I want a shark wrangler monokini!!
I want a one peice bathing suit period. It needs to happen.
Why are all bathing suits made of the same material these days? People used to wear wool bathing suits. Not that I want to wear a wool bathing suit (unless it was this one) but some kind of cotton-blend knit would be pretty cute, right? just sayin’.
Also I found this Amazing Flickr set of vintage japanese bathing beauty postcards, I would love love love love to use these as inspiration for a photoshoot someday:
The combo of the beach settings and the painted pastel colours against the dark stormy skies and long stringy black hair is BLOWING MY MIND! Anyways…..
Also wouldn’t mind a return of the bathing machine…. Sounds kind of romantic doesnt it?? Especially the part about them being completely windowless and therefore pitch black inside!

I’ve been thinking about rock and roll girls lately. I think it’s pretty difficult for women to pull off the rocker thing these days without being either too safe or too contrived. But when it works it’s so good! Tough, dangerous, and sexed-up is pretty much the opposite of me and my life so I guess that explains the attraction!
But it would be fun to be Alison Mosshart (AKA VV from the Kills) for one night!

Oh no! I just spent three hours proving to myself that all these years I have been so wrong about lingerie design being predictable and boring. If I was rich I would have just dropped about $5,000 on knickers and teddies right now…
Kiki de Montparnasse!!! How dare you be $325 silk wrap teddy!! I need that teddy right now! It makes me want to lounge around and listen to Stevie Nicks songs. Not that I don’t already do that, which is why we are meant to be!

And then apparently there is/was a couture lingerie line by the name of Courtworth, it doesn’t seem to have made anything new since fall 07 though which is a shame. But those are some serious serious undergarments!
It all makes Agent Provocateur look so boring and affordable. But I still want everything from their Martha collection… and I still cant afford it. Although the seamed nude stockings might be a possibility! (And then someone might actually get to see those, ha ha)

Today has been great! I found a sofa.
Here is my best attempt at using the timer on my camera. Oh dear, I just look like a blurry blob. I am attempting to demonstrate how the new sofa is just the right size for a mid afternoon nap!
Unfortunately taking pictures of myself is not my forte. Clearly I will need to get some tutoring from Nicole in that area…

Since moving into my bachelor appartment a couple months ago I have been sans sofa which makes entertaining kinda awkward. Guests have the option of sitting at the kitchen table or on my bed. Not the worst, but not the best either right? To remedy this problem I have been checking craigslist religously in attempts to score some sort of danish mid-century beauty.
Today my keyword search for “sofa” turned up this:

We are working on a very fun assignment right now, designing a group of clothing inspired by whatever we want. I hope our inspirations don’t have to be too coherent because right now I’m working with mythical horses, siamese twin skeletons and ghost doubles…
P.S. I let the window open so that the cats could play in the sun and now they are dragging big dead weeds into the house and putting them on my feet………
